ECMsm

The ECMsm is a compact, highly integrated all-in-one motion controller and drives solution designed to meet the needs of OEMs with cost-sensitive multi-axis applications. Its unique multi-processor architecture leverages powerful control algorithms to achieve best-in-class motion system performance, while its universal servo drive technology provides the system designer flexibility to control most any type of motor or stage.

Key Specifications
• Controller and Drive Axes: 2 or 4
• Host PC/PLC/PAC Communication: TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, RS-232
• Controller Cycle Rate: 1kHz
• Drive Supply Input: 12-48Vdc
• Bus Voltage: Equal to drive supply input
• Max Current Output Per Axis: 5/10A
• Encoder Channels: 4 (AqB, Absolute, or SinCos)
• Mounting Type: Panel
• Functional Safety Options: STO & SS1

When starting a new servo project, In-Position Technologies engineers start by reviewing the key requirements to determine the optimum drive and motor for the job.  They perform all necessary engineering calculations to make sure the motor performs as required, within customer specification, and without unnecessary cost.  They will also recommend the appropriate motors and feedback that will best fit the customer application.

This includes:

• Ensuring drive will meet motor current and voltage requirements
• Validating compatibility with the motor, feedback and controller
• Verifying mounting compatibility, form factor checks, etc…
• Ensuring all necessary accessories are also specified

When ordering ECMsm Drives as a part of a full system, IP Tech engineers review the solution to ensure:

• All parts and accessories necessary for a complete working solution are included
• All components have been checked and verified to work together as a system
• The selected components will perform as required by the project specifications
