Many people come to us with potential automation applications. Our goal when we visit is to determine the viability of their application and the best approach for a solution. This is the story of one of those apps.

One of our customers came to us with an assembly task. They had tried to automate the assembly of plastic parts in a multitude of different ways but were never able to increase their capacity to the degree they had hoped.

We took a look at the application and reviewed what our customer had put together in the past. After discussing the difficulties our customer has with the process, we came to a conclusion that a Universal Robot would be the most effective solution. We selected the UR due to the ease of programming, lack of need for guarding and adaptability. These were all very attractive advantages to our customer.

In-Position Technologies worked hand in hand with our customer to develop the robotic application and ensure they understood the programming interface. Because the programming interface is so easy to use it made learning how to program the robot an enjoyable experience for our customer. They were even able to teach multiple employees how to operate the robot with no additional training needed!

After the Robot was running in full production our customer had his return on investment back in around 8-10 months.
