One of our customers came to us with a request to find a motor and drive that could perform a specific motion profile for their application. Working together with the engineers we were able to determine the critical dimensions and electrical requirements to provide a motor that fit their needs.

The customer had mechanical and electrical restrictions that made it difficult to find a standard motor that would perform to specification. Using the resources available to IPTech, we were able to size up the appropriate kit motor that met the electrical specifications perfectly. This was only half of the process, the next step was to work with our supplier (Parker) to provide a completed assembly suitable for the customers mechanical requirements.

The end result was a custom motor that fit perfectly into our customers application. From these efforts our customer was able to meet their mechanical and electrical requirements for their application. During the development of this motor we worked hand in hand with our customer to find the correct drive for their system and motor assembly. With help from IPTech our customer was able to easily understand the programming interface and put together the desired motion profile with ease. At the end of the process the customer was confident in the solution and the support provided by IPTech throughout the design phase. The attention to detail and extra effort that IPTech was able to put in to finding the correct solution when none currently existed let our customer know that we are committed to providing quality products and excellent support.

When all was said and done the customer was very happy with the components but realized they did not have enough time/resources to dedicate to final testing they wanted to include before sending units out to customers. With IPTech’s in house motor and drive expertise, our customer asked us to provide assembly and testing of the motor subassembly to ensure that every unit that was received was up to specification. Using our experience and knowledge of motion control technologies IPTech was able to provide testing services for our customer to ensure the final assembly was easy to install and any potential issues were caught prior to our customer receiving product.
