HPG Helical Series
The HPG-R Helical Harmonic Planetary® gearhead delivers High-Torque and High-Accuracy in a compact package. The Helical gear design combines quiet operation with higher torque when compared to the standard HPG Series. The gearhead incorporates continuous backlash compensation that ensures low backlash throughout the life of the gear. A large Cross Roller bearing serves as the output flange and can directly support large loads with high moment stiffness. HPG Helical Series planetary gears are available with a flange output, smooth output shaft or a shaft with a key and tapped center hole.
Key Features:
• Helical Gearing
• Available in 3 Frame Sizes
• Peak Torque: 20Nm to 200Nm
• Ratios: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10:1
• High Efficiency
• Backlash 3 arc-min (<1arc-min available as an option)
• Repeatability ±20 arc-sec
• High load capacity Cross Roller output bearing
• Quick Connect® coupling for easy mounting of any motor
• Available with flange output, output shaft without key or shaft with key and center tapped hole
When starting a new motion control project involving a gearhead, In-Position Technologies engineers start by reviewing the key requirements to determine the optimum gearhead type, gear ratio, and form factor for the job. They perform all necessary engineering calculations to make sure the system performs as required, within customer specification, and without unnecessary cost. They will also recommend the appropriate accessories that will best fit the application.
To ensure a gearhead fits the customer’s requirements, In-Position Technologies engineers review:
• Gear Ratio
• Gear Geometry
• Backlash
• Efficiency
• Weight
• Maximum Input RPM
• Nominal Output Torque
• Maximum Acceleration Output Torque
• Emergency Stop Torque
• Axial Load
• Radial Load
• Gearhead inertia at input
• IP Rating
When ordering the HPG Helical Series Gear Unit as a part of a full system, IP Tech engineers review the solution to ensure:
• All parts and accessories necessary for a complete working solution are included
• All components have been checked and verified to work together as a system
• The selected components will perform as required by the project specifications
